Our bioethanol is produced to the highest standards to ensure that you get the best experience. This way, we ensure that our bioethanol has the least possible negative impact on the climate, and we make sure it is sustainable and CO2 neutral.

The pure bioethanol you receive as a customer can be safely used both indoors and outdoors, as we ensure a clean and safe product in collaboration with our skilled and quality-conscious partners.

It is important to use the purest bioethanol possible in your bioethanol fireplace. We recommend that it should be at least 95% pure. There are bioethanol products on the market with low alcohol content to keep the price low. These cheaper products often produce visible smoke, soot, and odor, which can eventually damage your bioethanol fireplace.

Vad är Bioetanol?

Bioethanol has become increasingly popular for use in bioethanol fireplaces in recent years, but what exactly is it? And how is it made?

In simple terms, bioethanol is an alcohol that is produced in a similar way to spirits.

The bioethanol you use in your bioethanol fireplace is made from excess organic waste from agriculture. In the past, much of the organic waste from agriculture was not used, but with this process, all of this becomes a significant source of clean and sustainable fuel.

The production of bioethanol starts with biomass. This biomass can consist of various organic materials such as grass, hay, corn, sugar cane, or wood chips. The only requirement is that the base material contains cellulose.

The first step in production is to grind the biomass and add water and steam. This breaks down the large plant pieces into a mashed pulp.

Next, a series of enzymes are added to break down the plant cells and convert the cellulose into dextrose, which most people recognize as sugar. It is these sugars that are the secret to making bioethanol fuel.

Once the enzymes have broken down the cellulose into sugar, yeast and bacteria are added, which naturally convert the sugars into ethanol, or alcohol, and natural CO2.

At this point, you have an alcohol-based mixture with around 10% alcohol content. This mixture is then used to produce the pure bioethanol that you burn in your bioethanol fireplace.

But there is still a bit more to do.

To separate the alcohol from the mashed mixture, a process called distillation is used. The mixture is heated so that the alcohol evaporates. This steam is collected in large tubes. As the steam cools down, the alcohol becomes liquid again and is collected in tanks.

Now, you are left with three different products. But all three of these products can be recycled and are not wasted. The surplus CO2 is used in products like soda or turned into dry ice, which is used in various industries. All the remaining plant material can be filtered out and used as animal feed for cows, pigs, and other livestock. Finally, we have the alcohol that we know as bioethanol.

This bioethanol is now purified and filtered to be as clean as possible when poured into your bioethanol fireplace.

We hope you enjoy your bioethanol fireplace from Le Feu, along with our high-quality bioethanol.
